Learning information
Privacy for your study record
What is saved
When enabled, Clerk handles sign-in and account details. The learning database stores your Clerk user identifier, case status, notes, revision numbers and save times. It does not need a copy of your name or email address.
Who can access it
The application authorises each request to the signed-in learner. Other learners cannot read or edit your record. The site operator and service providers with authorised technical access may process stored information. Notes are not end-to-end encrypted. Avoid sensitive personal information and information about other people.
History and retention
Current progress is kept until erased. The latest 500 saved note versions are retained; saving more removes the oldest note text. Compact daily status milestones and save counts remain until you erase your learning record, so an older learning trajectory is not silently lost. These daily summaries do not keep historical notes. The service also retains save identifiers, payload hashes and response metadata to recognise a repeated save safely; these contain no note text and are erased with your learning record.
Export and erase
My learning provides a JSON export of retained information and an erase action. Erasing removes progress, notes, recent versions and daily summaries. A minimal identifier and revision marker remain to reject delayed writes from old tabs. Erasing learning data does not delete your Clerk sign-in account.
Once account-deletion delivery is enabled and verified, deleting the sign-in account triggers removal of its learning information. A minimal deleted-account marker, containing the provider user identifier and deletion-receipt time, prevents an already-issued token from recreating the data. It does not retain notes, email, name or webhook payloads. Account-deletion delivery can be delayed; an issued token can otherwise remain valid until its short expiry.
In this browser
This application keeps private notes in page memory rather than local storage. Signing out, changing accounts or leaving the page clears its private state. A downloaded export remains on your device until you remove it. Use sign out when sharing a device.
External readings
Readings link to provider sites, which have their own terms and privacy practices. Use your own provider account where required. The learning application does not use Craig’s accounts to grant access to outside material.
Before accounts open
Account collection remains disabled until the operator confirms a privacy contact, applicable age and regional requirements, data-retention and backup-erasure policy, the minimal deletion-marker retention period, and the configured service providers. Those launch decisions are still required before a public account service opens.
